Imperial Shield
The Imperial Shield is a heavy shield and part of the Imperial Armor set. It has a base armor rating of 20 and weighs 12. New Imperial Legion recruits receive one with their armor.
Armor Enchantment
Any armor enchantment can be placed on an Imperial Shield at an arcane enchanter.
Every armor enchantment is listed under Enchantment Effects.
Imperial Shield Location
Joining the Imperial Legion and asking Beirand in Solitude for heavy armor gives a full set with this shield. Imperial soldiers carry it.
Gameplay Tips
- Temper it at a workbench with one Steel Ingot. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement.
- Forge it with the Steel Smithing perk from 4 Steel Ingots and 2 Leather Strips.
- Its 20 armor matches the Iron Shield.

Upgrades
An Imperial Shield is improved at a workbench with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
