Chests and other random loot hold copies from level 46, and enchanted copies appear from level 47. Blacksmiths and general goods merchants sell it at high levels.

Gameplay Tips

Temper it at a workbench with one Dragon Scales. The Dragon Armor perk doubles the improvement.
Forge it with the Dragon Armor perk, which needs Smithing 100, from 4 Dragon Scales, 2 Iron Ingots and 2 Leather Strips.
Its 29 armor beats the 27 of the Glass Shield at the same weight of 6.
