The Ancient Helmet of the Unburned lies behind a locked gate in Labyrinthian Tribune. Labyrinthian opens during The Staff of Magnus in the College of Winterhold questline.
- Start The Staff of Magnus with Mirabelle Ervine at the College of Winterhold.
- Travel to Labyrinthian and open the ruin with the Torc of Labyrinthian.
- Fight through the ruin to Labyrinthian Tribune.
- Pick the lock on the gate at the bottom of the first stairs.
- Take the helmet from the catacomb behind the gate.

Gameplay Tips
Temper it at a workbench with one Iron Ingot. The Arcane Blacksmith perk is needed, and the Daedric Smithing perk doubles the improvement.

Ancient Helmet of the Unburned is improved at a workbench with one Iron Ingot per improvement. The Daedric Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
