Helm of Yngol map location:

The Helm of Yngol rests on Yngol's remains on the throne in Yngol Barrow. The puzzle door on the way needs the Coral Dragon Claw.

Travel to Yngol Barrow.
Take the Coral Dragon Claw from the pedestal in the barrow, or buy it from Birna in Winterhold.
Open the puzzle door with the claw.
Defeat Yngol's Shade in the tomb.
Take the Helm of Yngol from the skeleton on the throne.

Gameplay Tips

Temper it at a workbench with one Steel Ingot. The Arcane Blacksmith perk is needed, and the Advanced Armors perk doubles the improvement.
It counts as a Steel Plate helmet for the Matching Set perk, so it can complete a Steel Plate set.

Smithing Guide

Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.

Upgrades

Helm of Yngol is improved at a workbench with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Advanced Armors perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
