Dawnguard Heavy Armor is a heavy armor cuirass from Dawnguard, worn by members of the Dawnguard. It has a base armor rating of 34 and weighs 42. Gunmar at Fort Dawnguard sells it after joining their side.

Armor Enchantment

Any armor enchantment can be placed on a Dawnguard Heavy Armor at an arcane enchanter.

Every armor enchantment is listed under Enchantment Effects.

Dawnguard Heavy Armor Location

Gunmar, the blacksmith of Fort Dawnguard, sells Dawnguard gear once the Dawnguard side is chosen. Members of the Dawnguard also wear it.

Gameplay Tips

Temper it at a workbench with one Steel Ingot. The Advanced Armors perk doubles the improvement.
Its 34 armor matches Dwarven Armor for 3 less weight.
A full set of Dawnguard armor cuts the damage taken from vampires by 25%.

Smithing Guide

Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.

Upgrades

A Dawnguard Heavy Armor is improved at a workbench with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Advanced Armors perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
