Iron Armor
Iron Armor is a heavy armor cuirass and part of the Iron Armor set. It has a base armor rating of 25 and weighs 30. Iron is the lowest-quality heavy armor in the game. Copies turn up from level 1 all over Skyrim.
Armor Enchantment
Any armor enchantment can be placed on an Iron Armor at an arcane enchanter.

Iron Armor Location
Blacksmiths and general goods merchants sell it from level 1. Chests and other random loot often hold a copy, and bandits wear it. In Riverwood, an Iron cuirass lies on the bar in Alvor and Sigrid's House.
Gameplay Tips
- Temper it at a workbench with one Iron Ingot.
- From the start of the game, any forge makes it from 5 Iron Ingots and 3 Leather Strips.
- Banded Iron Armor gives 28 armor for one extra Corundum Ingot.
- Four matching Iron pieces count as a matched set for the Matching Set perk, which adds 25% armor.
Smithing Guide
Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.
Crafting
An Iron Armor is made at a forge with the None perk.
