Guts is Rebecca's shotgun, the green and pink Budget Arms Carnage she carries in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. In the game it is an Iconic shotgun that gets stronger with every kill. Each enemy it kills raises its damage, crit chance, fire rate and reload speed for a short time. The downside is that its spread also grows, so the gun gets less accurate as the fight goes on. It works best in a Body build that likes to push into a room and keep killing without a break. Guts is a free find in Memorial Park in Corpo Plaza, with no job attached.
Combat
Guts works like a slow, heavy pump shotgun at first. Every kill then adds a stack of its bonus, and each stack lasts a few seconds. Up to five stacks can build at once. At full stacks the gun hits much harder, crits far more often, and fires and reloads faster. Its spread is wide by then. The pellets cover more of the room but miss more at range.
Guts gets stronger as long as the kills keep coming. It is at its best when one kill leads straight into the next, in a crowded gang hideout or a tight corridor. A long pause lets the stacks run out, and the next fight starts from zero. Like every shotgun, it works best when V is close to the target. Guts is also a heavy weapon. It slows movement and lowers jump height while it is drawn.
How to Get Guts Guide
- Travel to Corpo Plaza in City Center.
- Go into Memorial Park, the green ring at the middle of the plaza.
- Head to the southern part of the park, beneath a walkway.
- Look in the bushes behind the kneeling monks and take Guts.

Upgrades
Rebecca's shotgun is raised through the tiers in the Upgrades tab of the crafting menu. Every step costs a lot of crafting components. Disassembling the junk weapons that gangers drop is a good habit. Guts has to be on V, not in the stash, for the option to appear.
The table shows what each tier step of Guts costs.

Character Builds
Guts works best in a Body build, the tree for shotguns. Like A Feather removes the movement penalty for shotguns, which cancels the heavy weapon slowdown. Die! Die! Die! adds crit chance at low Stamina and speeds up fire rate as Stamina drops. Spontaneous Obliteration adds damage against nearby enemies. It also unlocks Obliterate, a chance to instantly kill enemies at low Health. Close-Quarters Carnage raises that chance at close range. Rush Of Blood speeds up reloads after a dismemberment. With Rip And Tear, shotgun blasts and quick melee attacks each boost the damage of the other.
For cyberware, the Ballistic Coprocessor raises ricochet chance and damage for Power weapons. Clutch Padding lowers the Stamina cost of shooting. Shock Absorber and Immovable Force cut recoil, which helps a gun with this much recoil.
Select a Build
The build fights at close range with shotguns and uses LMGs for ranged firepower. Berserk goes on for a chainsword that deals massive crit damage.

Lore
Rebecca belongs to David Martinez's crew in the Edgerunners anime. The item text describes her through the weapon. It says the gun will wreak bloody havoc, but it can be a little unpredictable, much like its original owner. The gun is a Budget Arms Carnage, a huge, cheap shotgun with brutal recoil, repainted in green and pink.
The Iconic line matches her style of fighting: let the lead fly, shoot faster, deal more damage, and never mind the accuracy. In Night City, the gun is simply lying in the park at the heart of Corpo Plaza. It sits in a bush below a walkway, near a group of kneeling monks.
Notes
- Guts is the Iconic variant of the Budget Arms Carnage.
- Guts comes from the Edgerunners content and is part of the base game.
