Prototype: Shingen Mark V is an unreleased Arasaka smart SMG. It is a prototype of the TKI-20 Shingen, left in a shipping container at the Arasaka Industrial Park. It fires explosive smart rounds that can set targets on fire. While V aims, its modified targeting system guides the bullets to as many as three targets at once. The item text calls it perfect for when V is outnumbered, and it is at its best in exactly that situation. It is a strong choice for a netrunner or Smart weapon build that wants to handle a crowd. It is easy to miss, because it sits in a booby-trapped container near a main job. Prototype: Shingen Mark V is a mid-game find at the Arasaka Industrial Park in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. V visits the warehouse there in the main job Gimme Danger.
Combat
The Mark V is a Smart SMG, so its rounds lock on and curve toward targets inside the tracking box. While aiming, it can track up to three targets at once and split its fire between them. Its rounds are explosive, and they have a chance to set enemies on fire. Burn deals high Thermal damage over a short time. Even a short burst keeps dealing damage after the trigger is released.
The gun is strongest against groups. V can aim at a group of enemies, let the system pick its three targets and keep firing. The explosions and burns spread damage across the crowd while the smart rounds chase targets behind cover. Against a single tough enemy, the extra locks matter less, but the explosive rounds and burns still help.

Character Builds
Intelligence is the attribute behind the Mark V's targeting perks. Targeting Prism adds an extra target when aiming, in addition to the Mark V's own three targets. Acquisition Specialist widens the smart targeting circle and shortens the time each lock takes. Target Lock Transfer keeps locks on headshots and weak spots when V switches between aiming and hip-fire. No Escape resets a fading lock when V keeps firing. Recirculation restores RAM after Smart weapon kills.
As an SMG, the Mark V also uses the Reflexes SMG perks. Spray And Pray lowers the Stamina cost of hip-fire. Submachine Fun gives an instant reload on swap. The Smart Link cyberware enables smart targeting and adds crit damage with Smart weapons.
Select a Build
Smart guns and quickhacks apply status effects and damage over time to many targets at once. Cyberpsychosis works as a distraction, and Overclock gets hacks through an enemy netrunner's buffer. Copy Paste then spreads the hack from that netrunner to all of its allies.
Attributes: Body 18, Reflexes 20, Technical Ability 20, Intelligence 20, Cool 3.

Lore
Gimme Danger is part of Goro Takemura's plan to reach Hanako Arasaka. After Wakako Okada gives V intel about the coming parade, Takemura meets V at the market in Japantown. The two infect the security system there, then head to the Arasaka Industrial Park in Arroyo. V scouts the warehouse from a rooftop, gets inside and hacks one of the parade floats so Takemura can use it later.
The prototype is not part of the job itself. It sits in a shipping container marked 667 in the loading bay of the same industrial park. The container is open but rigged with a landmine. Careful players disarm or avoid the trap before taking the gun. The Mark V is Arasaka hardware that has not reached the market yet.
Notes
