| Capacity | 30 |
The Painducer takes part of every hit V suffers and spreads it out over a few seconds. The damage still arrives, but it no longer lands all at once. A big burst that would drop V to zero turns into a slower drain. That slower drain buys time to use a Health Item, find cover or finish the fight. A Body character with plenty of Health and healing gets the most from it. The Painducer is a late game implant that every ripperdoc in Night City and Dogtown sells from level 30.
Effect
The Painducer converts a share of all damage taken into damage over time. At Tier 4 it converts 25%, and at Tier 5 it converts 30%. The converted part is dealt to V slowly instead of in one hit.
The effect matters most against large single hits. A shotgun blast, a sniper shot or a boss attack loses part of its punch at the moment of impact. Health regeneration and Health Items then have a chance to cover the delayed part.
The Painducer is attuned to Body. Each point of Body adds half a percent of resistance to damage over time.
The implant adds a large block of armor as well. Its stat bonuses raise the Health Item effect and, from Tier 2, reduce damage from Poisoned enemies.
How to Get Painducer Guide
- Reach level 30.
- Visit any ripperdoc clinic in Night City or Dogtown and open the Integumentary System slots.
- Buy and install the Painducer.

Upgrades
Ripperdocs sell the Painducer at Tier 4 from level 30 and at Tier 5 from level 40. An installed copy can be raised a tier at a ripperdoc with the matching item components. Each tier raises the share of damage converted and the armor. The Driver Update perk adds one more stat bonus. The Chipware Connoisseur perk offers a choice of bonuses when V upgrades the implant. V gains Cyberware Capacity with each level and from Cyberware Capacity Shards. The Edgerunner perk lets V go over the limit at the cost of some max Health.
The table shows what each tier step of Painducer costs at a ripperdoc.
| Upgrade | Components | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 4 to Tier 4+ | 50 Tier 4 components | - |
| Tier 4+ to Tier 5 | 37 Tier 5 components | - |
| Tier 5 to Tier 5+ | 50 Tier 5 components | - |
| Tier 5+ to Tier 5++ | 125 Tier 5 components | Phantom Liberty |
Character Builds
The Painducer belongs in a Body build. Painkiller unlocks slow Health regeneration in combat. Comeback Kid raises that regeneration the lower V's Health falls. Army Of One adds regeneration for each nearby enemy. These perks heal V while the delayed damage is still ticking. Adrenaline Rush grants Adrenaline, an extra layer of Health, when V uses a Health Item or Blood Pump cyberware.
In Technical Ability, All Things Cyber lowers the capacity cost of Integumentary System implants by 20%. Chrome Constitution cuts incoming damage by 5% when every Integumentary System and Skeleton slot is filled. The Pain Editor and ProxiShield fit beside the Painducer in the other Integumentary System slots. The Pain Editor shrinks every hit, and the Painducer then spreads out what is left.
Select a Build
Dashes close the gap so the shotgun can blast enemies at point-blank range. A quick melee hit after a shot boosts the next one through Rip and Tear. The shotgun and LMG perks grow stronger at low Stamina, so the build keeps shooting and dashing without a pause.
