The DB-2 Satara is Rostović's electromagnetic double-barrel shotgun. It is a Tech gun that fires sharp steel spikes and can shoot them through walls. Its special strength is the charge. Holding the trigger builds a stronger blast. The Satara can charge while firing from the hip, so V can walk around a corner with the shot already charged. It works best in a close-range Technical Ability build that likes to hit enemies hiding behind thin cover. Order, the Iconic shotgun of Maelstrom's old boss Brick, is built on it. The DB-2 Satara is sold in shops from the early game onward, in Watson, Heywood and Santo Domingo. V knows its crafting spec from the start.
Combat
The Satara holds two shells, one per barrel, and each blast throws a cloud of spikes. An uncharged shot works like a normal double-barrel blast at close range. Holding the trigger charges the electromagnetic barrel, and a charged shot can pass through cover and walls.
Charging from the hip is its biggest advantage. V can build the charge while moving instead of stopping to aim down sights. The charged shot can then be fired the moment an enemy steps into view. A charged blast through a thin wall also hits enemies who think they are safe behind it.
Shotguns can knock enemies off their feet, which keeps a crowd from rushing V while the barrels reload. Like every shotgun, it is weak at range. The Satara works best in interiors, alleys and gang hideouts.

Character Builds
The Satara uses perks from two attribute trees, Body and Technical Ability. In Body, Like A Feather removes the movement penalty for shotguns. Bullet Ballet reduces the spread while moving. Rush Of Blood speeds up reloads after a dismemberment. Rip And Tear links shotgun hits and quick melee attacks for extra damage.
In Technical Ability, Bolt raises charge speed and charged-shot damage. It also makes a shot count as fully charged if the trigger is released just before full charge. In Charge stops Tech weapons from firing on their own at full charge, so V can hold the blast. Internal Clock widens the timing window for a Bolt. Shock Value lets Bolts ignore enemy armor. Chain Lightning makes Bolts spread Electrical damage to nearby enemies. For cyberware, Feedback Circuit and Electromag Recycler restore Health when a fully charged Tech shot lands. Cellular Adapter adds Tech damage for each point of Technical Ability.
Its mod slots take Tech and shotgun mods. C-Thru lowers the charge needed to shoot through cover. It also reduces the damage lost when shooting through cover. Supercharger speeds up the charge. Spinetickler adds a chance for an EMP blast on a fully charged hit. Vivisector raises dismemberment chance and adds torso damage after a dismemberment. Kneel! adds a chance to dismember and kill with a leg shot. Wallpuncher, an Iconic mod, doubles the charge capacity at no extra charge time.

Lore
The in-game line borrows an old saying: faith can move mountains, but the Satara does not need to. Its database entry calls it an odd breed, strange to look at and built on unusual technology. Instead of normal buckshot, it launches small, razor-sharp steel spikes. Critics complain that it is heavy and bulky. Its fans point out that walls do not stop it.
MaxTac, Night City's unit for hunting cyberpsychos, agrees with the fans. The entry says the Satara has proven itself against even the most heavily chromed cyberpsychos. Order is the same shotgun in Brick's hands. It adds a charged shot that vaporises enemies and leaves an EMP trail.
Notes
- Order is the Iconic variant of the DB-2 Satara.
