The DB-2 Testera is Rostović's budget Power double-barrel shotgun. It can clear a hallway with one pull of the trigger. Its wide spread makes up for poor aim. Each shot fires a heavy cloud of pellets at whatever stands in front of it. It works best in a Body build that likes to kick in a door and end the fight at arm's length. The Testera is easy to find in shops across the city, and the Phantom Liberty Iconic Dezerter is built on it. The DB-2 Testera is a shop shotgun. Vendors in Little China, Northside, The Glen, Vista del Rey and West Wind Estate sell it, and so does Sophia Dupont in Dogtown.
Combat
The Testera is a Power shotgun with two shells, one per barrel. Power pellets can ricochet off hard surfaces, which helps a little around corners and in tight rooms. The main reason to use it is raw close-range damage.
Its spread is wide, so the Testera rarely misses an enemy who is close. Shotguns can also knock enemies off their feet. A blast to the chest often knocks a gang member down. V then has time for the reload that follows every second shot.
The wide spread makes it weak at range. Two shells also means a lot of reloading in a long fight. The Testera works best in short, violent bursts. V steps in, fires both barrels, reloads behind cover and repeats.

Character Builds
Shotguns use the Body tree. Die! Die! Die! adds crit chance at low Stamina. It also improves fire rate and handling as Stamina drops. Like A Feather removes the shotgun movement penalty. Bullet Ballet reduces the spread while V moves. Close-Quarters Carnage and Spontaneous Obliteration add a chance to Obliterate weakened enemies up close. They work well with a gun built for point-blank shots. Rush Of Blood speeds up reloads after a dismemberment. Rip And Tear adds damage when shotgun blasts and quick melee hits are mixed.
For cyberware, a Sandevistan slows time so V can get close and fire both barrels. Jenkins' Tendons speed up sprinting, which also helps V get close.
Its mod slots take Power and shotgun mods. Vivisector raises dismemberment chance and adds torso damage after a dismemberment. Kneel! adds a chance to dismember and instantly kill with a shot to the leg. Swiss Cheese adds armor penetration, but each shot costs more Stamina. Pyro turns part of the damage into Thermal damage with a chance to Burn. Critochet adds crit chance to ricochets, and Equalizer adds damage against Elite enemies.
Select a Build
Dashes close the gap so the shotgun can blast enemies at point-blank range. A quick melee hit after a shot boosts the next one through Rip and Tear. The shotgun and LMG perks grow stronger at low Stamina, so the build keeps shooting and dashing without a pause.

Lore
The in-game line keeps it short: double barrel, double satisfaction. Its database entry calls it an improved take on the older Igla, aimed at combat forces on a budget. The Rostović product has a single function, according to the entry: it goes boom. It can fire one barrel at a time or both together. The entry adds that this simple blast works best in a narrow alley or hallway. There, the wide spread almost guarantees a hit.
Dezerter turns this budget gun into something far nastier. It is the stash weapon of Leon Rinder, a former BARGHEST soldier in Dogtown, and it fires explosive rounds.
Notes
- Dezerter is the Iconic variant of the DB-2 Testera.
- The DB-4 Igla is the older Rostović shotgun the Testera improves on.
