The DB-4 Igla is the old workhorse of Rostović's shotgun range. It is a Power double-barrel, and later Rostović guns were built from it. It is cheap, loud and common, and it hits hard at close range. It comes in the lowest tier, so a new Body build can pick one up in the opening hours. It also has two hidden extras. A cyberpsycho carries a variant with a scope. The Iconic Sovereign is crafted from a spec looted in Japantown. The DB-4 Igla is an early-game shotgun. Most weapon vendors in Night City sell it, and enemies carry it from the first jobs.
Combat
The Igla is a Power shotgun with a shell in each barrel. Every blast fires a spread of heavy pellets that can knock an enemy flat. Power pellets can also bounce off walls and hit an enemy just around a corner.
Two shells means a reload after every second shot. The Igla works best in short bursts. V can start a fight with both barrels, then reload while the target is down. In a crowded room this is hard to keep up, so a faster backup gun helps.
Like every shotgun, it is weak at range. The Igla works best indoors. It is at its best in corridors, stairwells and cramped gang hideouts.
How to Get DB-4 Igla Guide
- Buy the DB-4 Igla from weapon vendors, such as Robert Wilson in Little China or the shops in Northside, Japantown and Rancho Coronado.
- Buy the military variant from the Aldecaldos vendor in Rocky Ridge or Marty Jenklow in Biotechnica Flats.
- Loot a variant with a short scope from Lely Hein during the cyberpsycho sighting Six Feet Under.
- Loot its crafting spec from Rufus McBride at a Suspected Organized Crime Activity in the Badlands, then craft it.

Upgrades
A stronger Igla comes from buying or crafting a higher tier. Its crafting spec drops from Rufus McBride, the boss of a Suspected Organized Crime Activity in the Badlands south of the city. With the spec and enough components, V can craft the shotgun at a better quality.
Character Builds
The Igla is a Body weapon. Like A Feather removes the movement penalty that comes with a shotgun. Bullet Ballet reduces the spread while V is moving. Die! Die! Die! adds crit chance as Stamina runs low. It also improves fire rate and handling at the same time. Close-Quarters Carnage and Spontaneous Obliteration add a chance to Obliterate a weakened enemy at close range. Rush Of Blood speeds up reloads after a dismemberment, which helps a gun with only two shells.
For cyberware, Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics raise crit chance. A Sandevistan gives V time to walk up to an enemy and fire both barrels.
Its mod slots take Power and shotgun mods. Vivisector raises the chance to dismember and boosts torso damage afterwards. Kneel! adds a chance to dismember and kill on a leg shot. Swiss Cheese adds armor penetration, but each shot costs more Stamina. Pyro adds Thermal damage and a chance to Burn. Better Half adds crit chance to the second half of the magazine, and Critochet adds crit chance to ricochets.
Select a Build
Dashes close the gap so the shotgun can blast enemies at point-blank range. A quick melee hit after a shot boosts the next one through Rip and Tear. The shotgun and LMG perks grow stronger at low Stamina, so the build keeps shooting and dashing without a pause.

Lore
The Igla's in-game line promises devastating power at an affordable price. Its database entry tells a less flattering story. The gun began life as a duck-hunting weapon for the swamplands of Serbia. In Night City it is seen as an antique, and even the city's poorest residents look down on it. Many say it makes more noise than damage.
Rostović kept coming back to it all the same. The Testera is sold as an improved Igla, and the smart Palica is built on the same old model. Sovereign is the Iconic variant, and it rewards shots fired from point-blank range.
Notes
- Sovereign is the Iconic variant of the DB-4 Igla.
- The DB-2 Testera and DB-4 Palica are later Rostović shotguns based on the Igla.
