The Ashura is Tsunami's smart sniper rifle. It locks onto one enemy at a time and guides its single round to the target. It fires one shot before each reload, so every shot matters. In return, the smart lock does much of the aiming. Long-range kills are far easier than with a normal sniper rifle. The Ashura works best in an Intelligence build with a Smart Link, for picking off a dangerous enemy from far away. It is sold in weapon shops from the middle of the game, and Yasha is its Iconic variant. The Ashura appears in weapon shops from around the middle of the game, once V reaches level 16. Enemies can drop it too.
Combat
The Ashura is a smart sniper rifle. With a Smart Link installed, it locks onto a single enemy and its round curves toward that target. Its lock holds one target at a time, so choosing the right target matters. Good targets are a sniper, a netrunner or an elite enemy.
Each shot is followed by a reload. This slow pace makes it a poor weapon once enemies get close. The Ashura works best from a high or hidden spot. V can take the first shot before the fight starts and switch to a faster gun afterwards.
Like other smart weapons, it deals less raw damage in return for its homing rounds. The lock-on takes a moment, so a quick target can move before the shot is ready.
How to Get Ashura Guide
- Buy the Ashura from a weapon vendor from level 16, such as the shops in Japantown, Downtown or Red Peaks.
- With Phantom Liberty, buy it from Sophia Dupont at the EBM Petrochem Stadium or Leon Watson at Longshore Stacks in Dogtown.
- Loot it from enemies who carry one.

Paul Craven drops the Ashura spec at the Suspected Organized Crime Activity in Rancho Coronado. The spec lets V craft Ashura in the crafting menu. Every spec in the game is listed on the Crafting Specs page.
The table shows what crafting Ashura costs at each tier.

Upgrades
Standard weapons like the Ashura are improved by crafting or buying a higher tier. Its crafting spec drops from Paul Craven, the boss of a Suspected Organized Crime Activity in Rancho Coronado. With the spec and enough crafting components, V can craft the rifle at a higher quality.
Character Builds
The Ashura uses perks from two attribute trees, Intelligence and Cool. In Intelligence, Acquisition Specialist widens the targeting circle and speeds up lock-on. Target Lock Transfer keeps the lock when switching between the hip and aiming. Smart Synergy gives instant lock-on and bonus damage on hacked enemies while Overclock is active. In Cool, Focus and Deadeye add headshot damage. Long Shot keeps full damage at any range. Nerves Of Tungsten-Steel guarantees crits on headshots.
For cyberware, Smart Link enables smart targeting and adds crit damage with smart weapons. Visual Cortex Support adds crit chance the farther V is from the target, which helps a rifle made for long range.
Its two mod slots take smart and sniper mods. Headtoll grants a series of bonuses for headshot kills in a row. Panorama widens the smart targeting circle. Stabilizer improves handling while crouching, which helps a sniper waiting in cover. Pax makes the rifle non-lethal.
Select a Build
Each fight starts with Overclock, then a control quickhack, then a combat quickhack. Smart guns lock on and finish the hacked enemies while Dashes and air Dashes keep the character moving. Silenced Smart guns and stealthy quickhacks also handle quiet gigs.

Lore
The rifle's in-game line is short: more than a rifle. The Ashura is made by Tsunami, and it combines a sniper's reach with a smart targeting system. The Iconic Yasha uses the same frame. It adds an Arasaka targeting system and room for extra mods.
Notes
- Yasha is the Iconic variant of the Ashura.
