Mechatronic Core
| Mechatronic Core | |
|---|---|
| Class | Frontal Cortex |
| Tier | Tier 1 |
| Capacity | 5 |
The Mechatronic Core makes V hit harder against machines. It raises damage against drones, robots, mechs and turrets. It also adds a little max RAM, so a netrunner gets something from it too. It suits any build that often fights security machines. It also adds armor for each point of Technical Ability. The Mechatronic Core is an early game implant that every ripperdoc sells from the start.
Effect
The Mechatronic Core has two effects, and both are always on. The first raises all damage V deals to drones, robots, mechs and turrets. The second effect adds max RAM.
The bonus rises with each tier. The extra max RAM rises from one point at Tier 1 to two points at Tier 5.
The Mechatronic Core is attuned to Technical Ability. Each point of Technical Ability adds half a point of armor.
How to Get Mechatronic Core Guide
- Visit any ripperdoc clinic and open a Frontal Cortex slot.
- Buy and install the Mechatronic Core.

Upgrades
Ripperdocs sell the Mechatronic Core at Tier 1 at the start, Tier 2 from level 10, Tier 3 from level 20, Tier 4 from level 30 and Tier 5 from level 40. An installed copy can be raised a tier at a ripperdoc with the matching item components. Each tier raises the damage bonus. Each copy also carries small stat bonuses. The Driver Update perk adds one more. The Chipware Connoisseur perk offers a choice of bonuses when V upgrades the implant. V gains Cyberware Capacity with each level and from Cyberware Capacity Shards. The Edgerunner perk lets V go over the limit at the cost of some max Health.
The table shows what each tier step of Mechatronic Core costs at a ripperdoc.

Character Builds
The Mechatronic Core fits any build that fights machines. The Corrosion perk in the Cool tree lets throwable weapons apply Poison to mechs, robots, drones and turrets. The Kiroshi Sentry Optics highlight cameras and turrets after a scan, so V knows where the turrets stand before a fight.
A netrunner gets extra value from the max RAM. The Ex-Disk adds more max RAM and faster uploads. Memory Boost restores RAM when V neutralizes an enemy. Both sit in the Frontal Cortex beside the Mechatronic Core. Hack Queue and Queue Acceleration each add another point of max RAM.
The armor from the attunement suits a Technical Ability build. License To Chrome and All Things Cyber in that tree also boost the stats of installed cyberware.
