RAM Recoup

RAM Recoup turns the damage V takes into fresh RAM for quickhacks. Every hit that lands gives back a small amount of RAM, so a netrunner under fire can keep hacking. It also raises V's maximum RAM a little. The implant suits an Intelligence build that does not always stay hidden, where enemies get some shots in. It is sold from the very start, so it can help a netrunner from the first hours of the game. RAM Recoup is an early game implant that every ripperdoc in Night City and Dogtown sells from the start.
Effect
RAM Recoup has two effects, and both are always on. The first raises max RAM by one point at low tiers and two points at high tiers. More max RAM lets V queue an extra quickhack or use a more expensive one.
The second effect triggers whenever V takes damage. A share of the damage received comes back as RAM. Large hits therefore return more RAM than small ones. The return is modest, so RAM Recoup works best as a top-up between the RAM V regains in other ways.
RAM Recoup is attuned to Intelligence. Each point of Intelligence adds a small bonus to all damage V deals. The implant also adds a block of armor that rises with each tier.
Its stat bonuses add more armor and, from Tier 2, RAM regeneration whenever V neutralizes an enemy.
How to Get RAM Recoup Guide

Upgrades
Ripperdocs stock RAM Recoup at Tier 1 below level 10, then Tier 2 from level 10, Tier 3 from 20, Tier 4 from 30 and Tier 5 from 40. An installed copy can be raised a tier at a ripperdoc with the matching item components. Higher tiers raise the RAM returned from damage, the max RAM and the armor. The Driver Update perk adds one more stat bonus. The Chipware Connoisseur perk offers a choice of bonuses when V upgrades the implant. V gains Cyberware Capacity with each level and from Cyberware Capacity Shards. The Edgerunner perk lets V go over the limit at the cost of some max Health.
The table shows what each tier step of RAM Recoup costs at a ripperdoc.

Character Builds
RAM Recoup belongs in an Intelligence build. Optimization raises the RAM recovery rate by 35%. Embedded Exploit raises it further and adds quickhack damage against enemies hit by Control or Covert quickhacks. Feedback Loop adds RAM recovery for each quickhack in a queue. Speculation and Data Recycler give RAM back after a kill.
Overclock lets V keep hacking with too little RAM by paying Health instead. Sublimation then makes every RAM recovery effect heal V while Overclock is active. Power Surge restores Health when Overclock starts.
Other RAM cyberware stacks with RAM Recoup. Memory Boost and Ex-Disk raise max RAM from the Frontal Cortex. The Camillo RAM Manager and the RAM Reallocator restore RAM in other situations. RAM Recoup takes a Skeleton slot. The License To Chrome perk in Technical Ability adds a second Skeleton slot for it.
Select a Build
Each fight starts with Overclock, then a control quickhack, then a combat quickhack. Smart guns lock on and finish the hacked enemies while Dashes and air Dashes keep the character moving. Silenced Smart guns and stealthy quickhacks also handle quiet gigs.
