Memory Boost

Memory Boost gives a netrunner RAM back every time V neutralizes an enemy. Each takedown refills part of the pool for the next quickhack. In a fight against a group, the RAM keeps flowing as long as enemies keep dropping. It also adds a point of max RAM. It suits any Intelligence build that hacks its way through crowds. Memory Boost is an early game implant that ripperdocs sell from the first levels onward.
Effect
Memory Boost has two effects. The first restores a set amount of RAM each time V neutralizes an enemy. The amount rises with each tier. The second effect adds one point of max RAM at every tier.
RAM normally comes back slowly over time. Memory Boost adds a burst of RAM at the moment an enemy goes down. A netrunner can then upload the next quickhack on the next target without waiting.
Memory Boost is attuned to Intelligence. Each point of Intelligence adds a small bonus to all damage V deals.
How to Get Memory Boost Guide
- Visit any ripperdoc clinic and open a Frontal Cortex slot.
- Buy and install Memory Boost.

Upgrades
Ripperdocs sell Memory Boost from the early game, and the tier they stock rises every 10 levels up to Tier 5. An installed copy can be raised a tier at a ripperdoc with the matching item components. Each tier raises the RAM restored per kill. Each copy also carries small stat bonuses. The Driver Update perk adds one more. The Chipware Connoisseur perk offers a choice of bonuses when V upgrades the implant. V gains Cyberware Capacity with each level and from Cyberware Capacity Shards. The Edgerunner perk lets V go over the limit at the cost of some max Health.
The table shows what each tier step of Memory Boost costs at a ripperdoc.

Character Builds
Memory Boost belongs in an Intelligence build. Several perks also return RAM after a kill. Data Recycler recovers most of the RAM cost of quickhacks still queued on an enemy when that enemy is neutralized. Speculation recovers RAM when a Combat quickhack neutralizes an enemy. Recirculation restores RAM after a kill with a Smart weapon. Finisher: Live Wire unlocks a Monowire Finisher that restores Health and RAM. Siphon restores RAM with each Monowire hit.
Other perks speed up normal RAM recovery. Optimization raises the RAM recovery rate. Embedded Exploit and Feedback Loop raise it further. Overclock lets V keep hacking with too little RAM, paying with Health instead.
The Ex-Disk and the Mechatronic Core both add max RAM. All three can share the Frontal Cortex, which holds three implants.
Select a Build
Each fight starts with Overclock, then a control quickhack, then a combat quickhack. Smart guns lock on and finish the hacked enemies while Dashes and air Dashes keep the character moving. Silenced Smart guns and stealthy quickhacks also handle quiet gigs.
