Atomic Sensors help V slip away when a guard starts to notice. Outside of combat, they raise V's movement speed as enemy detection builds up. The closer an enemy comes to spotting V, the faster V moves. That extra speed helps V break line of sight before the alarm goes off. They suit stealth builds and any character who wants to stay undetected, and they cost very little capacity. Atomic Sensors are an early to late game implant, sold by every ripperdoc in Night City and Dogtown from the start of the game.
Effect
Atomic Sensors work only outside of combat. When an enemy starts to detect V, a detection meter fills up. The implant raises V's movement speed in step with that meter. The bonus peaks when detection reaches eighty percent. At Tier 1 the peak bonus is a fifth. At Tier 5++ it reaches nearly two thirds.
The faster V moves, the sooner V can leave the enemy's line of sight. The effect ends at once when combat starts.
The implant is attuned to Cool. Each Cool point adds a small bonus to headshot and weakspot damage. A character with full Cool gains a few percent of extra damage on every headshot.
How to Get Atomic Sensors Guide
- Visit any ripperdoc from the start of the game to buy them at Tier 1.
- Return every ten levels for a higher tier.
- Upgrade them at a ripperdoc with crafting components.

Upgrades
Atomic Sensors come in every tier from Tier 1 to Tier 5++. Each step raises the peak speed bonus. The capacity cost stays low and the same at every tier. Ripperdocs stock a higher tier every ten levels, from Tier 2 at level 10 to Tier 5 at level 40. A ripperdoc can upgrade them with crafting components, which is the only way to reach Tier 5++.
The table shows what each tier step of Atomic Sensors costs at a ripperdoc.
| Upgrade | Components | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 to Tier 1+ | 10 Tier 1 components | - |
| Tier 1+ to Tier 2 | 7 Tier 2 components | - |
| Tier 2 to Tier 2+ | 10 Tier 2 components | - |
| Tier 2+ to Tier 3 | 7 Tier 3 components | - |
| Tier 3 to Tier 3+ | 10 Tier 3 components | - |
| Tier 3+ to Tier 4 | 7 Tier 4 components | - |
| Tier 4 to Tier 4+ | 10 Tier 4 components | - |
| Tier 4+ to Tier 5 | 7 Tier 5 components | - |
| Tier 5 to Tier 5+ | 10 Tier 5 components | - |
| Tier 5+ to Tier 5++ | 25 Tier 5 components | Phantom Liberty |
Character Builds
Atomic Sensors belong in a Cool build that likes stealth. Feline Footwork adds movement speed while crouched, and Ninjutsu adds movement speed at all times. Blind Spot makes a crouched V harder to detect when Mitigation Chance is high. Ninjutsu also lets V sprint while crouched and stay silent. Quick Getaway adds movement speed after a quiet kill.
For other cyberware, Basic Kiroshi Optics slow down how fast cameras detect V. The Arasaka Shadow cyberdeck rewards takedowns with RAM and slows traces. Atomic Sensors sit in one of the three Nervous System slots, so they can share space with implants such as the Adrenaline Converter.

Quickhacks do most of the damage, chained from cover before enemies find the character. The Tetratronic Rippler cyberdeck adds quickhack damage, and Overclock spends Health in place of RAM. A smart weapon or the Monowire finishes anyone left standing.

Lore
The in-game line for Atomic Sensors is a single dry joke: "The ware she told you not to worry about." The implant is built for stealth. It helps a sneaking V move out of sight before a guard finishes noticing.
