The Arasaka Shadow is the cyberdeck for netrunners who work unseen. Its bonuses slow down enemy netrunners who try to trace V. Covert quickhacks cost less RAM. Every takedown refills some RAM, so a quiet infiltrator can keep hacking between kills. At its highest tier, Overclock stops quickhacks from adding to the trace at all. It suits a stealth Intelligence build that sneaks, hacks and chokes out guards one by one. The Arasaka Shadow is an early to late game cyberdeck, sold by every ripperdoc in Night City and Dogtown from the start of the game.
Effect
A cyberdeck is an operating system that lets V use quickhacks. Each quickhack costs RAM, and the deck sets how much RAM V has. The deck also sets how many quickhacks V can carry and the size of its buffer. These grow with each tier.
Using quickhacks can start a trace, in which enemies try to find V's position. At Tier 2, the Arasaka Shadow makes that trace take forty percent longer. Upgrades raise this to sixty percent at Tier 5+ and to double the time at Tier 5++.
At Tier 3, Covert quickhacks cost two less RAM each. At Tier 4, every takedown restores five RAM. Quiet takedowns therefore keep V's RAM topped up.
At Tier 5, the deck works with Overclock, an Intelligence perk. While Overclock is active, quickhacks still start a trace, but they no longer add progress to it. V can hack hard during Overclock without being found any faster.
How to Get Arasaka Shadow Guide
- Visit any ripperdoc from the start of the game to buy it at Tier 1.
- Return every ten levels for a higher tier.
- Upgrade it at a ripperdoc with crafting components.

Upgrades
The Arasaka Shadow comes in every tier from Tier 1 to Tier 5++. Each tier up to Tier 5 unlocks a new bonus. Tier 5+ and Tier 5++ raise only the trace delay. The capacity cost stays the same at every tier. Ripperdocs stock a higher tier every ten levels, from Tier 2 at level 10 to Tier 5 at level 40. A ripperdoc can upgrade the installed deck with crafting components, which is the only way to reach Tier 5++.
The table shows what each tier step of Arasaka Shadow costs at a ripperdoc.
| Upgrade | Components | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 to Tier 1+ | 75 Tier 1 components | - |
| Tier 1+ to Tier 2 | 37 Tier 2 components | - |

Character Builds
The Arasaka Shadow belongs in an Intelligence build with a stealthy style. Shadowrunner removes all trace progress after a takedown. Encryption lowers the traceability of all quickhacks. Eye In The Sky makes Covert quickhacks cheaper and longer when uploaded through a camera. Icepick lowers the RAM cost of Combat quickhacks against enemies affected by Covert quickhacks. Overclock unlocks the Tier 5 bonus and lets V hack with too little RAM by paying with Health.
Some Cool perks help with the sneaking side. Feline Footwork raises movement speed while crouched. Creeping Death restores Health and Stamina after a kill while V is undetected or cloaked. For cyberware, Basic Kiroshi Optics slow down camera detection. RAM implants such as the Camillo RAM Manager restore RAM when it runs low.
Select a Build
The character stays hidden and clears rooms with Covert quickhacks before anyone raises an alarm. Cool perks keep the character unseen while crouched. When a fight breaks out, Overclock and the Monowire finish it fast.

Lore
Arasaka builds this deck. In the game it appears simply as Arasaka, with a model number for each tier, from Mk.1 at Tier 1 to Mk.5 at Tier 5. The name Arasaka Shadow comes from the game files. Its in-game description calls it a high-end cyberdeck. The text says netrunners who specialize in infiltration and corporate espionage use it widely.
Notes
- The Arasaka Shadow fills the operating system slot, so it replaces a Sandevistan or a Berserk.
