Fang is Kurt Hansen's own hunting knife, taken from his body at the end of Firestarter. A thrown Fang cripples the target and stops it from escaping. In close combat, each follow-up attack on that enemy hits harder. The knife is good for both starting and finishing a fight. It also works together with Hansen's revolver, Bald Eagle, for a unique combo. Fang is a late Phantom Liberty reward. Kurt Hansen drops it in the main job Firestarter when V sides with Reed.
Combat
Fang works in two steps. A throw that hits slows and cripples the target, which stops it from running. V then gets close, and each melee attack in a row on that enemy deals more damage than the last. The combo rewards staying on one target until it drops.
Fang also has a special link to Bald Eagle. First, Fang is thrown into an enemy's leg. A Bald Eagle shot to that same leg then tears it off and returns Fang to V's hand at once. V skips the throw cooldown and can repeat the combo on the next enemy.
How to Get Fang Guide
- Play the Phantom Liberty story to the main job Firestarter.
- Choose to help Reed capture Songbird at the Neural Matrix.
- Fight through the stadium until Hansen confronts V.
- Defeat Kurt Hansen.
- Loot Fang from his body.

Character Builds
Fang works best with the throwing perks in the Cool tree. Scorpion Sting shortens the recovery after a throw and can poison on crits and headshots. Juggler resets the throw cooldown after a headshot or crit kill with a thrown weapon. Pay It Forward gives a big damage bonus to the first melee attack after picking up a thrown knife. It works well when a throw is followed by a strike. Pounce lets V perform a finisher from farther away after a throw. Finisher: Act Of Mercy adds a throwable finisher that heals V.
Handle Wrap raises crit chance with throwables after equipping or throwing one. The Stabber adds crit chance with blades and throwables. With Bald Eagle in the other slot, Quick Draw speeds up the swap to the revolver.

Lore
Fang is an Iconic knife and the personal blade of Kurt Hansen, the commander of BARGHEST and the ruler of Dogtown.
V can only get it by choosing Reed over Songbird in Firestarter. Once the deception is exposed, Hansen and his soldiers come for V near the end of the job. The knife drops from his body once he falls.
