The Tire Iron is a one-handed blunt club, a mechanic's tool used as a weapon. Its in-game line tells the whole story of how it gets used: offer to help, change the tire, break a knee, steal the car. It is a simple melee weapon for a Body build. It can stun enemies and knock them out without killing them. Enemies carry it, and one lies waiting on a porch in Rancho Coronado. The Tire Iron is a loot weapon. Enemies drop it, and one can be picked up in Rancho Coronado, Santo Domingo, at any point once V can travel there.
Combat
The Tire Iron is a blunt weapon, so its hits knock enemies unconscious instead of killing them. Each strike has a chance to stun, which leaves the target open to more hits or a finisher. Blunt weapons are a good choice for a run that tries to leave enemies alive.
A one-handed club depends on the Body perks for its power. Quake adds a ground slam that damages and staggers nearby enemies, with a chance to knock them down. Breakthrough strips enemy armor for a few seconds after a strong attack. A heavy swing therefore makes the next one hit harder. Fly Swatter cuts ranged damage while V blocks with a blunt weapon. A club user can then get close to gunmen.

Character Builds
The Tire Iron uses the blunt perks in the Body tree. Wrecking Ball lowers the Stamina cost of blunt attacks. It also adds a charge that can knock enemies down. Quake speeds up blunt attacks and adds the ground slam. Epicenter makes a slam from midair hit harder the farther V falls. Kinetic Absorption turns blocked attacks into Stamina and bonus damage. Finisher: Savage Sling adds a blunt finisher that restores Health. It can also throw the victim into other enemies.
For cyberware, Microrotors raise melee attack speed. Dense Marrow adds melee damage, but each swing costs more Stamina. The Adrenaline Booster restores Stamina after each melee kill. A Berserk operating system such as the Zetatech Berserk adds damage reduction while active. It also removes the Stamina cost of melee attacks. Its mod slots take blunt and melee mods. Barbarian adds damage against stunned and knocked-down enemies. Airstrike raises crit chance and crit damage on attacks made in midair. Cyclone lets a sprint attack start a combo for a short time. The attacks speed up as they land.
Select a Build
A one-handed club and Dashes pick off enemies one by one while Berserk is on cooldown. Once Health drops, Berserk makes the character invulnerable and melee attacks cost no Stamina. Quake slams the ground whenever it is ready and staggers every enemy nearby.
