The Baseball Bat is the everyday two-handed club of Night City, carried by gangers and sold by melee vendors. It is a blunt weapon, so it beats enemies down without killing them. Heavy swings can stun or knock a target over, which leaves it open to more hits. The bat is a simple, reliable start for a Body build that fights up close and keeps its victims alive. It is also the base for several Iconic bats, from the Gold-plated baseball bat to Baby Boomer. The Baseball Bat is an early weapon. Melee vendors sell it, and enemies drop it from the first hours of the game.
Combat
The Baseball Bat is a two-handed blunt club. Blunt weapons deal solid damage per hit but swing more slowly than blades. They leave enemies alive. The bat is therefore useful in jobs that ask for the target unharmed and in runs that avoid killing.
The heavy attack is the bat's most important move. Strong attacks with blunt weapons can knock an enemy down, and a knocked-down enemy shows its weak spots. Blunt hits can also stun, which holds an enemy in place for a short time. Light swings mixed with a well-timed heavy swing keep a single target under pressure.
Against gunmen at range, V has to get close first. A Body build does this with blocking, the Wrecking Ball charge and the Quake ground slam.

Upgrades
Standard weapons like the Baseball Bat are improved by crafting or buying a higher tier. Its crafting spec is sold by melee vendors. With enough crafting components, V can craft the bat at a higher quality.
Character Builds
The bat uses the blunt weapon perks in the Body tree. Wrecking Ball lowers the Stamina cost of blunt attacks. It also lets V ram into enemies while sprinting and blocking. Fly Swatter reduces ranged damage while blocking with a blunt weapon, which helps V get close to gunmen. Kinetic Absorption rewards a block with Stamina and bonus damage. Breakthrough strips armor after a strong attack. Quake adds attack speed and a ground slam that staggers nearby enemies. Finisher: Savage Sling adds a blunt finisher that heals V. Stunned enemies are easier to finish.
For cyberware, Microrotors raise melee attack speed, and the Adrenaline Booster restores Stamina after each melee takedown. A Berserk operating system removes Stamina costs for melee while it is active.
The bat's mod slots take melee and blunt mods. Barbarian adds damage against stunned, staggered and knocked-down enemies, which works well with the heavy swing. Airstrike adds crit chance and crit damage to midair attacks, such as a Quake slam from above. Cyclone lets a sprint attack turn into an unlimited combo for a few seconds. Silencio adds crit chance and crit damage while crouched and undetected. Bloodbruiser makes the bat lethal and adds a Bleeding chance.
Select a Build
A one-handed club and Dashes pick off enemies one by one while Berserk is on cooldown. Once Health drops, Berserk makes the character invulnerable and melee attacks cost no Stamina. Quake slams the ground whenever it is ready and staggers every enemy nearby.
