Sasquatch's Hammer is the signature weapon of Sasquatch, the giant Animals boss who guards the Grand Imperial Mall in Pacifica. It is an Iconic hammer, and a very heavy one. Every swing is slow and drains a lot of Stamina. Each one also deals massive damage and has a strong chance to knock enemies off their feet. While it is drawn, V cannot sprint, dodge or dash. It is a weapon for a Body build that wants each hit to end a fight. It comes from a boss fight in the main story. Sasquatch's Hammer is a mid-game reward from the main job I Walk the Line, at the Grand Imperial Mall in Pacifica.

Combat

The hammer is a very heavy two-handed weapon. Its weight cuts its attack speed sharply, but its base damage is far higher than a normal hammer's. Its swings also have a raised chance to knock enemies down. A knocked-down enemy is open to a follow-up swing.

The weight is the price. While the hammer is in hand, V moves slowly, jumps lower and cannot sprint, dodge or dash. Every swing also uses a lot of Stamina. It works best in close fights against a few tough enemies, rather than fast brawls against many. V usually puts it away to move between fights, then draws it again when the enemy is close.

Character Builds

Blunt weapons use the Body tree. Wrecking Ball and Quake both lower the Stamina cost of Blunt attacks, which matters more here than for any other weapon. Quake also adds attack speed with Blunt weapons. It unlocks a ground slam that can knock enemies down. Kinetic Absorption gives back Stamina and Blunt damage after a block. Finisher: Savage Sling adds a Blunt finisher that restores Health.

For cyberware, Isometric Stabilizer cuts the Stamina cost of all attacks. Adrenaline Booster returns Stamina after each melee takedown. A Berserk operating system removes the Stamina cost of attacks entirely while active and adds attack speed. It fixes the hammer's two biggest weaknesses. Microrotors raise melee attack speed.

Select a Build

Most swings of Sasquatch's Hammer either kill an enemy outright or knock it flat. Quake slams a whole group to the ground, and Militech Berserk makes the character invulnerable when things get dangerous. An SMG covers the moments that need speed or reach.

Attributes: Body 20, Reflexes 20, Technical Ability 20, Intelligence 3, Cool 18.

Lore

The item text is a warning. Anyone thinking of using Sasquatch's Hammer should be ready for blood, sweat and tears. V provides the sweat, and the enemies provide the blood and tears. It also admits the cost: the hammer drains a lot of Stamina, but it inflicts massive damage.

I Walk the Line is part of the Voodoo Boys storyline. Placide sends V to the Grand Imperial Mall to find a NetWatch netrunner hiding in the cinema. The mall is full of Animals, and the cinema is guarded by their boss, Sasquatch, who fights with this hammer. A V who stays hidden can find the hammer lying in the room before Sasquatch picks it up. V can then take it without a fight. Otherwise, it can be looted once the fight is over.

Notes

  • Sasquatch's Hammer has its own display spot on the weapon wall in V's apartment.
