Electric Baton Beta is the middle model of Night City's electric batons, a one-handed blunt club that deals Electrical damage. Like its sister models, it can hit several enemies with one swing. It handles a group of attackers better than most melee weapons. Each strike has a chance to Shock, and its blunt head knocks enemies out instead of killing them. It works well in a Body build that likes to fight a crowd and leave everyone unconscious. Electric Baton Beta can be bought or looted. Coach Fred sells it in Little China, and it can be found at an NCPD Reported Crime in Charter Hill.
Combat
The Beta is a one-handed club, and its built-in trait lets each swing hit more than one enemy. Two gang members standing side by side can both take the hit. The baton is a good choice when a stealth approach fails and enemies rush in.
Every hit adds Electrical damage and a chance to Shock. A Shocked enemy takes an extra burst of Electrical damage as well as the hit itself. Blunt weapons also have a chance to stun, and a stunned enemy is easy to finish.
Because it is blunt, the baton is non-lethal by default. Cyberpsycho sightings and other jobs that ask for a target alive are therefore simple. The downside is range. Enemies with guns can hurt V on the way in, so blocking and getting close quickly both matter.

Upgrades
A stronger Beta comes from finding or buying one at a higher tier. Shops and loot follow V's level.
Character Builds
The Beta uses the blunt perks in the Body tree. Kinetic Absorption rewards a successful block with Stamina and a burst of blunt damage. Quake adds blunt attack speed and unlocks a ground slam that staggers everyone around V. Aftershock restores Stamina for each enemy hit by Quake, and Ripple Effect restores Health for each one. Epicenter makes a Quake from midair stronger the farther V falls. A jump can then end in a landing that clears a crowd.
For cyberware, a Berserk operating system removes Stamina costs for melee while it is active. It works well with a weapon made for long brawls. Microrotors raise attack speed with melee weapons.
Its mod slots take melee and blunt mods. Airstrike adds crit chance and crit damage to attacks made in midair, including a superhero landing. Silencio adds crit chance and crit damage while V is crouched and undetected, so the first hit from stealth lands hard. Cyclone lets a sprint attack turn into an unlimited combo for a few seconds. Barbarian adds damage against stunned and knocked-down enemies.
Select a Build
A one-handed club and Dashes pick off enemies one by one while Berserk is on cooldown. Once Health drops, Berserk makes the character invulnerable and melee attacks cost no Stamina. Quake slams the ground whenever it is ready and staggers every enemy nearby.
Attributes: Body 20, Reflexes 20, Technical Ability 20, Intelligence 3, Cool 18.

Lore
The Beta's in-game line is a warning in capital letters: do NOT use while swimming. The joke is about what an electric charge does in water. It also hints at the baton's real job of shocking whoever it touches.
The Beta sits between the Alpha and the Gamma in the baton family. All three share the same wide swing and electric charge. Each one has its own look and its own line of flavour text.
Notes
- Electric Baton Alpha and Electric Baton Gamma are its sister models.
