The Crowbar is a plain steel bar that many Night City enemies carry into a fight. In V's hands it works as a one-handed blunt weapon for close combat. Its hits beat enemies down and can stun them, but they knock targets out instead of killing them. The Crowbar suits a player who wants to clear a room and leave everyone breathing. Phantom Liberty adds an Iconic Crowbar with its own story and a joke about another famous crowbar. The common Crowbar drops from enemies across Night City, and the Iconic Crowbar is a late Phantom Liberty find in the main job Somewhat Damaged.
Combat
The Crowbar fights like every blunt weapon. Its attacks wear an enemy down until the enemy collapses unconscious. Each hit also has a chance to stun the target. Blunt weapons are the usual choice for jobs that need a target taken alive, such as the cyberpsycho hunts. Care is still needed once an enemy is down. Further hits on a downed enemy can kill them.
The Iconic Crowbar has a higher stun chance than the common one. Stunned enemies are easier targets for the blunt finisher, so the Iconic variant works well with finisher perks.

Character Builds
The Crowbar is a Body weapon, and the blunt perks in the Body tree all work with it. Wrecking Ball lowers the Stamina cost of blunt attacks. Its second level lets V barrel into enemies while sprinting and blocking, with a chance to knock them down. Kinetic Absorption rewards a block with Stamina and extra blunt damage for a few seconds. Clapback gives defensive attacks a knockdown and makes counterattacks stun. Quake lowers the Stamina cost again and raises blunt attack speed. Its final level adds a ground slam that damages and staggers nearby enemies. Breakthrough strips part of an enemy's armor for a few seconds after a strong attack.
Finisher: Savage Sling unlocks a blunt finisher on enemies with low Health. A successful finisher restores some of V's Health. Holding the button throws the enemy instead, which kills them and damages anyone they land on. For cyberware, a Berserk operating system strengthens melee attacks while it is active.
Select a Build
A one-handed club and Dashes pick off enemies one by one while Berserk is on cooldown. Once Health drops, Berserk makes the character invulnerable and melee attacks cost no Stamina. Quake slams the ground whenever it is ready and staggers every enemy nearby.
Attributes: Body 20, Reflexes 20, Technical Ability 20, Intelligence 3, Cool 18.

Lore
The common Crowbar's description calls it the favorite tool of burglars and theoretical physicists from MIT. The line is a nod to Gordon Freeman, the physicist hero of the Half-Life games. The Iconic Crowbar carries the joke further. Its description tells V to try not to lose it, because crowbars do not grow on trees. Its Iconic line reads "Trusty as always." The Iconic model closely resembles the crowbar Freeman swings in Half-Life 2.
The Iconic Crowbar lies in an underground tunnel during Somewhat Damaged. This job only opens for a V who helped Reed capture Songbird in Firestarter. It is one of the last jobs on that route. Songbird escapes in a MaxTac truck and crashes it through a wall. V follows her trail of Blackwall traces down through the wreckage and deep underground. The Crowbar waits on a crate in a sealed room near the start of that descent.
Notes
- The Iconic Crowbar is missable, so it is best picked up before going deeper into the job.
- The gates can also be bypassed through a floor hatch and a swim, but that route skips the Crowbar.
- Gorilla Arms raise Body, which helps V meet the 20 Body check for the gate.
